McCain's Energy Policy Is As Old As He Is

Politico--McCain plays with fire on offshore drilling
USA Today--McCain wants 45 new nuke reactors by 2030

Offshore drilling... Rumor has it that at current consumption rates, oil obtained from offshore drilling will net us 2.5 years worth of energy for American automobiles. Oh, and we won't see a drop of it for 10 years if we start tomorrow. Clearly the drilling is not worth the effort or the threat of environmental disaster.

We haven't brought a nuclear reactor on line in 30 years. That reason may be out of irrational fear of nuclear meltdown, but my question is, have they figured out how to take care of the waste products? No, I didn't think so.

John McCain's energy policy is as old as he is. Instead of preaching progressive ideas like alternative energy and energy efficiency, he says "more of the same." We need a leader as president, someone who gives us hope and drives the nation in the right direction (though maybe not the popular direction). McCain took a big step backwards.
